We believe that freshman year is too early to begin to focus directly on college. It is a time for students to get acclimated to high school and the new responsibilities that come with it. However, we do encourage the following:
- Students can start thinking about their interests and passions, and pursue activities that may support them.
- Students should design their course schedules to give them the time and space to explore the subjects and extracurriculars that get them excited.
- By developing strong study habits and time management techniques early on, students will see positive results on their transcript. It is important for students to put forth their best effort starting freshman year as this will determine their courses in subsequent years as well as impact their options for college down the road.
